Village Tavern to Open in North Hills

Kane Realty Corporation is excited to announce that The Village Tavern, an upscale, casual restaurant offering exceptional food, craft cocktails and an award-winning wine list, will be opening in the Main District of North Hills. Village Tavern is the first restaurant announcement for the Main District Expansion project currently under construction. Once completed, the redevelopment will include a 12-story high-rise residential building, 346,000 square feet of office space and 100,000 square feet of ground floor retail.

“We are thrilled to welcome Village Tavern to North Hills,” said John Kane, CEO of Kane Realty Corporation. “Village Tavern will be an outstanding addition to Raleigh as well as a great amenity for patrons, office tenants and residents of the Main District Expansion project.”
The original Village Tavern, founded by Scott Richardson, opened its doors in 1984 in Winston- Salem. Born and raised in North Carolina, Richardson said he is very focused on his home state. Village Tavern has four successful restaurants in North Carolina – two in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Charlotte. “We have always wanted to go to Raleigh – it’s a natural extension for us,” said Richardson. “We have waited patiently looking for the perfect site in Raleigh for 15 years and we are beyond excited to be in North Hills – an exceptional place for people to gather. The synergy between Kane Realty, North Hills and Village Tavern is a perfect fit.”

With the 2021 unveiling of the $1B, multi-phase North Hills Innovation District (NHID), Kane Realty Corporation announced a mission to bring together private innovation in technology, life sciences, and entrepreneurship with meaningfully scaled public open space. Today, with the first two phases well underway or already complete, Kane has revealed plans for the newest residential project to begin NHID Phase III. St. Albans Residential, a six-story mid-rise featuring approximately 400 apartments and 2,500 square feet of ground-floor retail, will be located at the corner of St. Albans Drive and the future Hardimont Drive extension.

“The vision of NHID is a District based in technology and innovation with intentionally designed spaces that will create meaningful opportunities for professional and social interactions in a setting that unifies urban and outdoor areas” said Josie Reeves, Kane Realty’s Director of Design. “The addition of St. Albans Residential to NHID is another step toward fulfilling the mission of this unique District.”

In line with the Innovation District’s overall vision of connecting tenants and visitors with experiential retail, diverse artisans, makers, and local entrepreneurs, NHID will offer a variety of unique retail spaces. Multiple move-in-ready, 700-900 SF micro-retail spaces equipped with storage and/or private workspace beneath Channel House within the District’s “Maker’s Alley.” NHID will also include two notable free-standing F+B buildings with large dedicated outdoor dining space. “The opportunity to bring together a mix of hyper-local tenants for the micro-retail spaces and the two F+B buildings within the North Hills Innovation District is very exciting,” said Mary Ehrenberger, Retail Activation Specialist for Kane Realty. “Bringing together the best of Raleigh’s rich creative community with the provision of uniquely designed retail spaces in a highly experiential environment is a unique differentiator for NHID and complements the tenant mix of North Hills overall very nicely.”
