Stacey Buescher

As Managing Director of Operations for Kane Realty, Stacey oversees the day-to-day operations at all commercial properties. Stacey is specifically focused on the retail and office operations side to ensure exceptional customer service throughout all relationships and partnerships. She also oversees the teams that focus on events and marketing, speciality leasing and construction upfits.

Prior to Kane Realty, Stacey started her career at IBM then moved to another local company, ChannelAdvisor. Her career at ChannelAdvisor spanned over 9 years and included various roles on the services side of the business. She led teams that supported over 1,100 US based clients with a wide range of size and scope. During her time at ChannelAdvisor, she effectively grew her teams to appropriately scale as the business’ footprint expanded. Currently, Stacey serves as a board member for Root Elementary Foundation and YMCA Properties and Facilities Committee.

Stacey was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina but has loved Raleigh since the first day she started college at North Carolina State University. She resides in Raleigh with her husband, Nathan, and two boys, Vann and Boone. In her free time, Stacey loves anything her two boys enjoy!

Steve Brown

Steve is the Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Leasing for Kane Realty. He primarily supervises all the company’s retail leasing activities. In addition, he is responsible for the direct execution of specific projects.

With more than 40 years as a real estate broker, 38 of which were exclusively in retail properties, Steve has experience with all types of shopping center projects, having leased properties ranging from small, unanchored specialty centers to multi-anchored regional malls to outdoor, mixed-use developments. His experience includes the leasing of new centers from the ground up as well as re-merchandising existing properties under redevelopment.

Prior to Kane Realty, Steve had associations with Rubin Strouse Retail in Philadelphia and North Hills, Inc. in Raleigh, where his focus was on traditional enclosed regional malls as well as distressed properties. Steve has been recognized numerous times by the Triangle Business Journal for the execution of significant retail leases. He was noted for the Triangle market’s largest retail lease for 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2011 and 2014 in addition to being recognized for the Top Retail Lease Transaction of the Decade in 2010. He was also honored with the Lease Transaction of the Year Award for 2012 by the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors and has been a member of their Million Dollar Retail Leasing Club for many years.

Steve has earned the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute and both the Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS) and Certified Retail Property Executive (CRX) designations from ICSC. In addition to North Carolina, he also holds a Real Estate Broker License from the Commonwealth of Virginia, is a member of ICSC, the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors, the North Carolina CCIM Chapter and National Commercial Investment Member Institute (CCIM Institute).

Steve is a graduate of East Carolina University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in real estate. An active alumnus, Steve is an emeritus member of the East Carolina University Board of Visitors, having served as Chair of the Board from July 2011 through June 2013. He is also a member of the East Carolina University Educational Foundation, the College of Business Commerce Club and a Life Member of the Alumni Association.

Steve resides in Raleigh with his wife, Joanne. They have two grown daughters and three granddaughters. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time at the North Carolina coast.

Jennings Glenn

Jennings is the Chief Financial Officer for Kane Realty. He joined KRC in 2005 and oversees financial strategy, planning, and coordination among all of the financial disciplines of the company.

Prior to joining Kane Realty, Jennings was the Controller for Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. in Raleigh, where he was responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting. Preceding his time with Southern Industrial, he worked as a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Raleigh and as an Associate with Blackman & Sloop CPA’s P.A. in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Jennings is a graduate of North Carolina State University and holds a degree in accounting. He also earned a degree in political science from Queens College in Charlotte.

His community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors for The First Tee of the Triangle and the Board of Trustees for William Peace University. He also served as the past chair of the StepUP Raleigh Board of Directors and past chair of the Aldert Root School Foundation Board of Directors. He served as a member of the Salvation Army Board of Directors as well. He also served as a Deacon and is currently an Elder at White Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Jennings is an avid golfer and served as a member of the Host Committee for the Presidents Cup in Charlotte in 2022 and is currently an Ambassador for the US Open in Pinehurst in 2024. He was named one of the Triangle Business Journal’s “Forty Under Forty” for 2010 and was awarded 2015 Father of the Year by The Father’s Day Council in association with the American Diabetes Association.

Jennings is a member of several professional associations, including Urban Land Institute, National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, The International Center of Shopping Centers, and the Regional Transportation Alliance.

Bonner Gaylord

Bonner is the Chief Operating Officer for Kane Realty. He oversees day-to-day operations and directs members of KRC’s commercial and residential property management teams on marketing, events, sponsorships, public safety, custodial, maintenance, tenant construction, and tenant relationships.

Bonner holds an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School where he was a Hobgood Fellow. He is a NC licensed general contractor, a NC licensed real estate broker, a LEED accredited professional through the US Green Building Council, a Friday Fellow through the William C. Friday Fellowship for Human Relations, and a Private Protective Services Board license.

Bonner was elected as a Raleigh City Councilor from 2009 to 2017 where he served on various committees and served as council liaison to multiple city-related organizations. Bonner has served on numerous non-profit boards and received the Forty Under Forty award in 2009 from the Triangle Business Journal, 10 to watch in 2010 by the News and Observer, and the 2011 Outstanding Public Servant award from the N.C. Center for Voter Education.

T.J. Barringer

T.J. Barringer serves as the President and Chief Investment Officer of Kane Realty Corporation, a premier real estate development firm recognized for its innovative district-level mixed-use approach that centers on placemaking. With 20 years of experience, T.J. has played a pivotal role in shaping Kane Realty’s reputation for delivering high-quality projects that not only generate strong returns for investors but also significantly enhance the communities they serve.

T.J.’s leadership extends across all facets of Kane Realty’s business, where his active coaching and deep commitment to fostering a collaborative and motivated culture have driven the continued success and expansion of Kane Realty’s business lines.

He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. T.J. serves the local community in roles including the Triangle YMCA, Raleigh Capitol Area Developments board member (Affordable Housing), and Triangle ULI Triangle District Chair. He also serves at Hayes Barton Methodist Church through various service and outreach programs. T.J. and his wife Jessie are the proud parents of two boys – Jones and Hayns.

Mike Smith

Mike Smith, CEO of Kane Realty Corporation, provides leadership and strategy oversight of development, leasing, management, and financing for the company.

Mike received his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Mike is a Trustee on the Board at Wake Forest University and St. David’s School.  He is a recent past Chairman of the Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (GRCVB).  He also serves on the boards for the John W. Pope Foundation and the Raleigh Police Department Foundation.

Prior leadership roles include serving on the NCDOT Board of Transportation, the Executive Committee of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Wake County Economic Development Board and YPO Southern 7 Chapter Chair. He has also served on the boards of the Triangle Transit Authority (TTA), Downtown Raleigh Alliance, Center for Christian Study, and Midtown Raleigh Raleigh.

Mike is a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, an honor given for exemplary service to the state of North Carolina. Past awards include the Midtown Hero Award, TBJ’s “50 to Watch in Business”, and “Forty Under Forty”.

Prior to joining Kane Realty in 2001, Mike was Managing Director at PNC Capital Markets and Vice President at Banc of America Securities’ Capital Markets Group.

John M. Kane

John Kane founded Kane Realty Corporation in 1978. Today as its Founder & Chairman, John has successfully led an organization that has developed sustainable mixed-use communities, regional malls, neighborhood and community centers, office buildings, hotels, and health centers.

Kane Realty began work on its signature project, North Hills, in late 1999 with the purchase of numerous properties in Raleigh’s North Hills, embarking on a massive billion-dollar redevelopment that now encompasses 165 acres. North Hills, a mixed-use, multi-block district known as Raleigh’s Midtown, is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades for its pedestrian-friendly and sustainable design which has made it one of America’s premier in-fill developments. Centrally located at the corner of one of Raleigh’s main thoroughfares and the I-440 beltline, North Hills is a destination of urban living, luxury hotel rooms, class A office space, premier dining, salons and day spas, high-end boutiques, a 14-screen movie complex, a state-of-the-art athletic club, and numerous gathering places.

John is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, Chief Executives Organization and World Presidents’ Organization. John serves on the Economic Development Board of the NC Board and previously served on Boards of Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority, Duke Heart Center, Research Triangle Regional Partnership, NC Chamber, Duke Raleigh Hospital, Duke University Health System, and NC Symphony.

In 2004, John was recognized as Business Leader of the Year by Business Leader Magazine, received the Pillar Award by the Triangle Business Journal, the Impact Award by Triangle CREW, Developer of the Year in 2005 by TCAR, News and Observer “Top 10 to Watch in 2009,” 2009 Sir Walter Raleigh Award by City of Raleigh, 2010 Thad Eure, Jr. Memorial Award from the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (which recognizes an individual that has made a major impact on the Wake County hospitality industry). In 2015 John received the ULI Triangle J.W.Willie York Community Builder Award, the Triangle Business CEO of the Year award and the Triangle Business Person of the Year Award. The News & Observer named John the 2016 Tar Heel of the Year and in 2017, he was inducted into the Raleigh Hall of Fame for his significant and lasting contributions to the city of Raleigh.
