Kane Realty Corporation is pleased to announce that Basic Brewing, a new brewery and full-service dining concept, will open at Platform in Raleigh’s West End neighborhood, this fall. Basic Brewing will bring a fresh, elevated take on the traditional brewery experience blending a warm, inviting atmosphere with a thoughtfully curated food and beverage program designed for everything from casual gatherings to date nights.
“We’re excited to welcome Basic Brewing to Platform and continue building a dynamic, community-driven retail mix in West End,” said Mary Ehrenberger, Retail Leasing and Multi-Site Manager for Kane Realty Corporation. “Their concept aligns perfectly with the vision for Platform—bringing people together through unique, high-quality experiences in a neighborhood setting.”
The space will feature a mid-century modern and industrial-inspired design, offering a more polished environment than a typical brewery. Guests can expect a full kitchen with a menu centered around pizza, alongside an American-inspired selection of dishes. The beverage program will include a lineup of core beers, seasonal rotations, as well as a curated cocktail and wine menu.
Founded with the motto “Savor Life, Enjoy Basic,” the concept was born from a desire to create a place where people can slow down and connect over simple, meaningful experiences. After years in the corporate world and overcoming significant personal health challenges, the founder was inspired to build a neighborhood gathering space rooted in community and connection.
“West End and the surrounding neighborhoods truly capture the heart and history of Raleigh,” said Kendall York, Founder of Basic Brewing. “As someone who has lived here my entire life, it’s exciting to be part of a growing area that still feels deeply connected to the community. We’re looking forward to creating a space where people can come together and enjoy the simple things.”
In addition to its food and beverage offerings, Basic Brewing will feature a rentable private event space, with options for larger group gatherings. The team also plans to collaborate with neighboring businesses to host community events for residents and visitors, while introducing its own unique programming. They will join a growing lineup of local retailers at Platform, including Homebody Yoga and Wellness, The Bike Library, Brightside Books & Wine, and MOOD Raleigh further establishing Platform as a vibrant hub for wellness, retail, and community in the West End district.
