Triangle food enthusiasts will soon have a new destination to explore and expand their culinary interests. Raleigh start-up, Hone-Sharpen has selected Smoky Hollow as the site for its multi-kitchen facility, designed to specialize in culinary education and entertainment. Hone-Sharpen is excited to bring this new, innovative and contemporary cooking studio to Smoky Hollow and serve their new community and the Triangle for years to come. This innovative approach to culinary education is accessible and engaging, catering to food lovers of all skill levels and interests.

“Hone-Sharpen is the perfect addition to Smoky Hollow,” said Stacey Buescher, Managing Director of Operations for Kane Realty Corporation. “Their innovative approach to culinary education and entertainment perfectly aligns with our vision of creating a vibrant and engaging community. We’re confident Hone-Sharpen will become a beloved destination for office tenants, residents and visitors.”

Chef Cherisse Byers, the founder of Hone-Sharpen, is thrilled to introduce this concept, which showcases her profound love for cooking. Hone-Sharpen embodies the culmination of her experiences as a culinary instructor, combining the best of the kitchens, people, and culinary knowledge she has gathered over the years. With a background in business and culinary arts, Chef Cherisse has been teaching cooking classes throughout the Triangle, where she has fostered a genuine connection with home cooks. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see participants take pride in what they’ve created. Delicious meals often form the heart of our most cherished memories,” she says.

The Hone-Sharpen facility will feature a demonstration kitchen, a commercial kitchen, and more! This versatile space is perfect for hands-on group cooking classes, professional training, or simply for guests to enjoy culinary entertainment.

The catalog of cooking classes is structured to offer flexibility, allowing customers to seamlessly transition between classes for both hobby and professional growth. With instructors and food professionals from diverse backgrounds, customers can expect a dynamic and enriching culinary adventure. Hone-Sharpen will also host exciting events such as competitions, wine tastings, lectures, and culinary showcases, offering participants the chance to “play chef for a day.”

“We are just as excited about our location as we are about our concept,” says Chef Cherisse. “Smoky Hollow is a vibrant community of residents and professionals who crave unique culinary experiences. We believe they will not only embrace Hone-Sharpen but also help us create a cool gathering spot for visitors to Smoky Hollow.”

Hone-Sharpen is slated to open in early 2025, offering classes and events for all. Pre-registration for classes and events will begin in Q4 2024.
